The flocks.digital platform
The flocks.digital platform is primarily a community of entrepreneurial digital experts that share the same values, looking to collaborate on common business challenges, organized in Flocks. It provides resources, known as shared business capabilities, to kick-start and accelerate those collaborations. A process known as bootstrapping.
The goal of the platform is to build and manage a 2-sided network that facilitates the interaction between 2 distinct groups of users:
- Flocks = teams of entrepreneurial experts providing digital services
- customers = enterprises active in Belgium consuming digital services
Advantages
Using the flocks.digital platform brings advantages to both groups of users
Access to a broader customer base
Business opportunities that Flocks spot, but which are not relevant to them because they don’t match with their core digital competencies, can be shared with another Flock which does have this competency. Imagine for example a Flock specialized in building CRM solutions getting a question to build a datalake for their customer. Through the flocks.digital platform, the Flock specialized in building CRM solutions can pass the opportunity to and introduce a Flock specialized in building datalakes.
This is a powerful mechanism that is beneficial in 2 directions:
- Flocks get access to each others customers, allowing them to increase their sales and revenue
- Flocks that share opportunities gain additional trust from their customers and can agree upon a reward for bringing on the lead from the new Flock being introduced
Enhanced customer experience
Customers get access to a network of digital experts, serving as a one-stop-shop for all their digital needs. This level of convenience leads to higher customer satisfaction and repeated business.
The network effect
As more users join, the platform’s utility and value increase and deliver the most value available:
- more Flocks joining the platform, provide a broader set of digital services, making it more interesting for customer as a one-stop-shop for their digital needs
- more customers joining the platform provide a larger pool of potential opportunities for Flocks
